IMPROV 4 GOOD
This advanced workshop will focus on how to do comedy that's about something you feel strongly about. Satire can fall flat by being preachy or get cringe by being too subtle. We'll create a safe space to fail, share what we believe in, and learn how to initiate and support a scene with a clear point of view in a way that feels fun, funny, and meaningful!
If want to explore any of these questions this class is for you!
* What parts of improv culture does the rest of the world need?
* There are parts of my lived experience I don’t see reflected in improv. Why?
* How can my team do improv that better aligns with our values? (...but NOT be preachy!) * What is the easiest and clearest way to do improvised satire?
This advanced class is recommended for folks that have been doing improv consistently for at least a year, and will be especially useful for people who are on indie teams or want to start one!
Out of town on Memorial Day weekend? Or just want to try the class out before you commit to four weeks? There’s an alternate (pay what you can) first class one week earlier.
