everything ALL at once.
What happens when chaos takes on its possibility? What is a master crowd-scenes? And how can one bring their biggest ideas imaginable to life?
everything ALL at once. is a high-energy, fast-paced workshop built for massive stage impact.
You will finish with honed tactics on how to comfortably jump into big ensemble scenes and tackle seemingly "unstageable" cinematic staging as a seamless collective.
What We Will Explore:
Instant Mass Scenes: Hit the stage en masse to instantly build rich, crowded environments. These environments become another character to support your work. Imagine the living breath of a cafe! Or the impact of a too-crowded train.
Staging the "Impossible": Collaborative brainstorming and physical storytelling to pull off jaw-dropping story moments. What does the improvised version of blowing up the Death Star, South by Southwest crowdsurfing or the Big Bang look, feel, and sound like?
The Art of the Background “Passenger”: Learn how to walk on as an extra, fill out the world as dynamic background ensemble, and support the core action without stealing focus.
Complex Split-Scenes: Master active, wide-lens stage tableaux! Many people on stage means you have to control modulating your speaking/listening to smoothly shift focus and share stage across multiple storylines.

Jon first caught the improv-bug at 6. This sparked a lifelong dedication to the art of "the moment." He participated in several improv groups such as “Creative Mayhem” at Palo Alto High School, started “PostHumorUs” at Sonoma State and the “The Jerks of Invention” at University of Tennessee, then “Stone Soup” in Berkeley, before starting his current group “The Incidentalists” - a collective dedicated to discovering long-form theatre in a wide variety of genres (Sci-Fi, Greek, Western, Absurdist, Court-Room, Radio play, Silent Movie, Period Romance, Sitcom, Goth Horror Romance Musical, Dickens, Edward Gorey, etc.). He refined his craft at the Berkeley Rep School of Theatre under Diana Brown and Diane Rachel and completed a six-month intensive in the body-imagination rooted Action Theatre with Ruth Zaporah.
Jon holds an MFA in Performance from the University of Tennessee’s International Actor Training Academy and a BA in Arts & Social Change from New College of California. He has appeared on stages from New York City (Solo) to Seattle (original play in the Fringe Fest) to Bratislava (Kafka) and Budapest (Shakespeare), taking on roles ranging from Andre in Chekhov’s The Three Sisters to Einstein in Steve Martin’s Picasso at the Lapin Agile.
Jon blends rigorous technical training with a transformative, playful approach to performance. Whether he is directing a wide range of ensembles or performing solo or standup comedy (including the very last night of SF’s famous Holy City Zoo club), Jon’s work is defined by profound laughter, empathy, and a belief in the power of collaborative storytelling through discovery and deep listening.
When he isn’t on stage or in the rehearsal space, Jon can often be found writing haiku, strumming Dylan songs on his baritone ukulele, or passionately rooting for the 49ers.
